Listen up, campers — Camp Rock 3 is no longer a distant dream but a reality as the long-awaited sequel has officially been confirmed.
The third installment in the beloved franchise is finally happening after Disney Branded Television confirmed on Wednesday (September 17) that Camp Rock 3 has been greenlit for Disney Channel and Disney+, Deadline reports. Nick Jonas, Joe Jonas and Kevin Jonas are set to reprise their roles as well as executive produce the project, along with Demi Lovato, who starred as Mitchie Torres in the franchise's first two films. Despite her recent Camp Rock reunion with the Jonas Brothers, Lovato has not been confirmed to appear in the new movie.
The JoBros even shared a TikTok on Wednesday recreating a scene from the original 2008 movie using a sound byte from the film, with the trio transforming into fictional boyband Connect 3. In the video, Joe, Nick, and Kevin sit around a picnic table as Joe, as his character Shane Gray, declared, "I don't wanna waste my summer at some camp! I'm Shane Gray for crying out loud!"
Nick tried to keep the peace by replying, "Hey man, we used to love this place. Three years ago we were campers," while Kevin hilariously added, "Yeah man, this is where Connect 3 connected."
"Good morning campers," they captioned the clip.
According to a synopsis of the film shared by People, Camp Rock 3 "picks up when Connect 3 lose their opening act for a major reunion tour, returning to their beloved Camp Rock to discover the next big thing. As campers vie for the chance to open for their favorite band, tensions rise and friendships are tested, leading to unexpected alliances, revelations and romances."
"Camp Rock is an important part of the Disney Channel Original Movie legacy, with unforgettable music, energetic storytelling, and characters that live in the hearts of fans to this day," said Ayo Davis, president of Disney Branded Television. "Bringing it back with Kevin, Joe, Nick and Demi is such a full-circle moment, and we can't wait to reintroduce this world to a new generation."
In addition to the Jonas Brothers, Maria Canals-Barrera will also reprise her role as Connie, Mitchie's mother. New faces joining the franchise include Liamani Segura, Malachi Barton, Lumi Pollack, Hudson Stone, Casey Trotter, Brooklynn Pitts, Ava Jean and Sherry Cola.
