They've been a popular drink for a while now, and mailnly because of their tastiness...but drinking them might be getting you sick. The Moscow Mule. Of course the refreshing alcoholic beverage (Vodka, ginger beer, lime, etc...) is probably most known for it's signature cold AF glass that it is served in. The problem is, the copper mug itself! From the FDA: “prohibits copper from coming into direct contact with foods that have a pH below 6.0.”
How do you know what's good to drink out of? According the Iowa Alcoholic Beverage Division: “copper mugs lined on the interior with another metal, such as nickel or stainless steel, are allowed to be used and are widely available.” So take a peak and make sure the mug is lined with non copper metal.
