Do We Wash The Turkey? Do We Not Wash The Turkey?

A lot of people are still rinsing their Thanksgiving turkey out of habit. The CDC warns that washing raw poultry basically sprays germs all over your kitchen, making cross-contamination much more likely. Instead, the safest move is to skip the sink, wash your hands, and be sure to use proper cooking techniques, like making sure your bird hits 165°F in all the right spots. So unless you want to spend Black Friday dealing with a very un-festive case of food poisoning, this is one holiday tradition that’s better left in the past! So DON'T WASH THE TURKEY! -- Happy Thanksgiving....Allison@OnTheRadio
