There are all sorts of hobbies to enjoy in your down time, but does spending time on social media count? New research suggests a lot of people think it does.
Survey of 4-thousand people:
- About a quarter (24%) of them consider scrolling through social media a genuine hobby.
- A third of respondents know the time they spend scrolling is preventing them from pursuing their other interests.
- 32% feel screen scrolling helps them relax and cope with the stresses of life, while 20% say it’s a cheap way to spend their free time.
- 16% of those polled don't do any outdoor activities.
- 59% admit they do want to try something new and 38% want to break their scrolling habit and they’re actively trying to spend less time on social media.
- 23% are even considering getting rid of Instagram, TikTok and all of their social media to help encourage them to do other things.
