The difference Gen Z and Millennials had growing up!

  • TV vs YouTube: Millennials grew up on cable TV and lived through perhaps the golden era of cartoons with shows on Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network. Now, Gen Z gets its entertainment in the form of YouTube videos and streaming services.
  • Libraries vs Google: Everything a Gen Z might want to know is at their fingertips and can be learned with a quick google search. For millennials, they had to figure things out the old-school way.
  • Marbles vs TikTok: Millennials were always outside running around the neighborhood unsupervised, playing games like hide and seek and dodgeball. Today, that’s practically considered neglect. Instead, kids make TikTok videos and post on social media as a way to interact with friends.
  • Skinny Jeans vs Baggy Pants: Skinny jeans reigned over millennials from the mid 2000’s up until recently. Once Gen Z entered the chat, skinny jeans were out and baggy pants were in!
  • Missed Calls vs Texts: If you still remember your best friend’s landline number growing up, then you’re a true millennial. Some millennials didn’t get their first cellphones until high school/college – and even then, texting was limited.
  • Fashun vs Fashion: Millennials are pretty self-aware over the fact that we made some questionable fashion choices that would make teenagers today cringe! At least when millennials were 13 we actually looked and dressed as a 13-year-old would. Today’s teens and pre-teens look like they’re 25!
