An Oregon couple who married 14 years ago thought they’d lost their wedding video forever, but they got lucky this year when it was found. Kayla and Drew Gottfried had taken the tape of their nuptials to a video editing store to have it transferred to a disc, but they were told the tape was blank. They thought they’d never see it again, until Drew got a call from a friend a few months back.
Their pal had found the video with a bunch of old tapes at their church and gave it to Drew. He kept it a secret from Kayla for the time being because he had big plans up his sleeve. And on their 14th anniversary, he rented out a movie theater and asked them to play the wedding video instead of a movie.
Kayla had no idea what was about to be shown on the screen as she sat in the dark theater next to her husband. Drew captured the moment of surprise in a TikTok video that shows his wife seeing the footage she’s never seen before. As soon as their wedding video starts to play, Kayla breaks out in a huge smile and tears up, covering her eyes. Drew describes her reaction as “pure happiness” and concludes it was a “successful surprise.”
