Will Smith has played many heroes over his storied movie career. Apparently the Oscar nominee is filming his latest film, “Emancipation,” in the Big Easy. When he found out that they were skipping their fireworks show – the same one they cancelled last year because of COVID – due to a lack of funds, Big Willie stepped in to make it happen. He and his Westbrook production company, came up with $100 thousand for the festivities to go on.
Will’s gesture did not go unnoticed. New Orleans Mayo rLaToya Cantrell made it a point to thank him in a tweet.
