12 kids who were taking a sailing lesson ended up overboard of their boats when a 'king tide' 25ft wave overtook them.
Surfers and water-skiers who saw it happen made a quick rescue of those on board. Video from the beach by a
concerned passerby shows part of the rescue. The 12 children from the Santa Cruz yacht Club, ages 7 to 12, were taking part in
a lesson and were on their way to shore when turbulent waves caused their vessels to overturn, washing them overboard.
The Harbor Master has launched a forma investigation as parents are asking why their kids were out on the water with those
kinds of waves in the first place.
