How To Avoid "Tech Neck"

How to avoid tech neck? Take a break from your devices and exercise more! Women especially take note!

A new survey of 2,000 women ages 35 and older finds:

  • More than half of women say they spend “too much” time looking at their devices, checking them, on average, 13 times an hour.
  • 42% say they’ve been looking at them more since the start of the pandemic.
  • 30% of women admit they suffer from “tech neck” due to all the looking down at their phones.
  • Most say it’s causing ongoing strain on their neck and shoulders, and there are also vanity issues as well.
  • Two thirds say they worry about how “tech neck” will affect the appearance of their next in the future.
  • A third are concerned about visible neck aging.
  • 45% have added caring for their necks to their beauty regime.
  • 20% are more concerned that looking down so much is causing signs of aging on their neck than straining it.
  • 18% have actually started exercising to counter the effects of tech neck.
