Snapchat Dysmorphia Is Totally A Thing

Who doesn’t love a good Snapchat filter? They make us look and feel amazing (for the most part). But there’s actually a study that shows that there’s such a thing as Snapchat Dysmorphia. It basically means that people want to look more like what they look like when they have a dope filter on them.

Dr. Matthew Schulman is a plastic surgeon who says that these apps and filters are actually bad for our self-esteem. We’re always seeing a version of ourselves that we want to be more like. Patients of Dr. Schulman have even brought in photos of themselves with filters on to show him what it is they’re looking for.

It’s not right to constantly compare yourself to a different version of yourself!
