Ed Sheeran Breaks Record For Most Streamed Song

f you feel like there’s been no escaping Ed Sheeran’s “Shape of You” this summer there’s good reason. Ed’s tune is now the most streamed song on Spotify ever, taking over the top spot from Drake’s "One Dance.”

Take a deep breath...Ed’s tune now has over 1,318,420,396 streams - overtaking "One Dance’s” 1,317,143,742 plays. 

For the record, this is now the third Spotify record Ed holds. Back in March, the tune earned the record for the best one-day streams with 10-million, and Ed's his album “Divide” also has the most first-day streams, with 56,727,861.

  • ONE MORE THING! Ed has announced a new set of tour dates which will see him playing stadiums next summer. The stadium shows kick off August 18th at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California, with dates so-far confirmed through November 19th in Atlanta, Georgia, although Ed says they are just the “first batch” of dates.
