Meghan Markle Is Reportedly Planning To Run For President In 2024

Meghan Markle is reportedly planning to run for President of the United States, according to a new report from The Daily Mail. The outlet claims the Duchess of Sussex has been "openly networking among senior Democrats to help build fundraising teams and a campaign for the White House."

“The Blairite, internationalist and Democratic party networks are buzzing with talk about Meghan’s political ambitions and potential backers,” an anonymous source, who used to work for former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair, told the Mail.

This isn't the first time there's been speculation that Meghan may be eyeing a career in politics. Omid Scobie, the reporter who penned Meghan and Harry's biography, wrote the Duchess “has her eyes set on the US presidency" once claimed. “Meghan is the embodiment of the American dream. One day we may see Meghan become president.

In an interview with Vanity Fair, an anonymous friend told the magazine that Meghan “would seriously consider running for president" at some point in the future. “One of the reasons she was so keen not to give up her American citizenship was so she had the option to go into politics,” the friend revealed.

Not everyone who knows Meghan believes she's planning to run for office though. “I would state categorically that she has no chance of ever running for president. She would be eaten alive,” Andrew Morton, another of Meghan's biographers, told Vanity Fair.

Meghan is reportedly interested in running a 2024 presidential bid should current President Biden decide not to run again in four years. Should Meghan launch a successful campaign, she could potentially become the first female US president.
