Shawn Mendes Announces 'Wonder: The Experience' Livestream Benefit

Shawn Mendes is playing livestream benefit concert this weekend!

The Canadian musician has announced a new musical event, titled Wonder: The Experience, set to kick off this Sunday (December 6), at 6 p.m. ET.

“Performing some songs & telling some stories from the making of Wonder for #WONDERTHEEXPERIENCE, & proceeds will benefit the @shawnfoundation in our efforts to support youth changemakers,” the 22-year-old pop star shared in a statement this week.

Mendes’ Wonder: The Experience will raise money for the singer’s very own Shawn Mendes Foundation, which “seeks to inspire Shawn’s audience, the youth generation of today—to learn about those causes that they are passionate about, and help empower them to use the voice they have to bring change to the world by taking action and giving back.”

The concert show will support the release of the pop star’s upcoming new album, Wonder, due out this Friday (December 4). It’s also the latest of Mendes’ Wonder era performances, as he recently delivered the album’s title track and also live-debuted his brand-new collaboration, “Monster” featuring Justin Bieber, at the 2020 American Music Awards.

The superstar announced his album earlier this fall, describing the LP as a project he's "been wanting to make for a really long time."

“I’ve missed you all so much! I know it’s been a really scary year for everyone so I’m sending buckets of love to all of you x,” he wrote at the time. “I wrote an album. It’s called Wonder. It really feels like a piece of me has been written down on paper and recorded into song. I tried to be as real and as honest as I’ve ever been.”
