Rare Condition Causes Adult Dog To Look Like A Puppy For His Whole Life

A puppy in Phoenix, Arizona isn't a puppy at all. The little German Shepherd's name is Ranger and while he looks like a young pup, he's actually two years old. However, because he suffers from a rare condition, he appears much younger. It started when Ranger was a puppy and contracted a parasite called Giardia. After he recovered from that, his owners saw that he wasn't really growing like other dogs and took him to the vet, who diagnosed him with Pituitary Dwarfism. The genetic disorder makes Ranger look adorable, but comes with a bunch of issues including shedding fur and flaky skin.

Thankfully, Ranger doesn't let the problems hold him back and is living his best life. He even has an Instagram account with 68 thousand followers.

Ranger's owners feel he inherited the condition because his parents were never bred together, so no one was aware they both carried the gene for Pituitary Dwarfism, which could cause offspring to have it.

Thankfully, these days, Ranger is happy and healthy. You can see more photos of him and follow him here.
