A new superhero could be entering the Marvel Comics universe soon. Stan Lee's only living child, daughter Joan "J.C." Lee, revealed she and her father worked together on a final character for the comics before he died this week.

On Tuesday (November 13), J.C. told TMZ she intends on keeping her father's legacy alive — starting with their new hero, Dirt Man, a character whom she describes as "the last little angel we've got tucked away."

"I said, 'Daddy, please — no clatter, no steel, no any of that. Let's get down and dirty,'" the 68-year-old said. Without giving away any explicit details about Dirt Man's powers or origins, J.C. hinted that "it's very interesting" and his creation was a result of "trying to get [her father] to do a character with me my entire life."

The remarkable announcement, however, arrives at an unfortunate time.

Stan Lee passed away Monday morning (November 12) after being rushed to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center from his Hollywood Hills home in response to a medical emergency. He was 95.

TMZ, who broke the report, detailed that in the last year alone, the legendary comic book creator and Marvel Comics co-creator battled with several medical issues, including pneumonia and vision difficulties.

The treasured figure was responsible for launching some of the most popular comic book characters including Iron Man, Spider-Man, Black Panther, The Incredible Hulk and dozens of others.
