The debut single from Lea Michele is on its way.

The "Glee" actress has announced the details of her much-anticipated solo career.  The single is called "Cannonball," and is set to premiere on December 10th.

Speaking with "People" at the L'Oreal Women of Worth event on Tuesday night, Lea said recording "Cannonball" helped her through the loss of her boyfriend Cory Monteith earlier this year.

The 27-year-old went into the studio to record it just a month after Cory's death, and says it is "more than just a song" and "helped to lift [her] up at a time where I needed it."

She adds that her father "cried the entire time" when he heard it first, but for her, she's used the Sia-penned track as a rock.
